Woodslake Netting

Well, after much tugging and hauling for two days with the significant help of some muscle bound Dutch helpers... We got a very good insight into the carp population of Woodslake.
I expected to remove plenty of pasties but we saw few but what we did view was more than encouraging. What a big surprise to see such numbers of big round and growing commons of which the average weight is well above 20lb+. Over three net hauls we saw catfish well over 100lb and they were anything but thin !

Remco Grit and Henk nicely forwarded us 2 videos of the netting. Thanks to them.

Some small carp and cats were removed and this will further enhance the quality of the fishery, the removed small commons have been placed in the new gravel pits currently being dug out and expected to finish in 10 years time.

Thanks to Bas and his crew of netsmen and thanks to Pascale and Stephane for looking after us so well, yummy scrummy food and nice bubbly drinks.

Next time hide your leg of lamb away from Dandy and me... we did warn you that 1 leg would not be enough...
