"Hi Sandrine

Just to let you know we had at great week at Boux  ( wk commencing 17th April) .
Between the two of us we had 64 carp of which 8 where 40+ and 25 good 30s.
Notable fish were  Blind Eye for me at 48lb 12oz  and 3 other mirrors over 40 at 44.0 ,43.12 , and 41.10 with 4 commons over 37lb.
Andy managed 2 commons over 40lb best went 42lb , a 44lb mirror and a grass carp at a huge 48lb 8oz all backed up with lots of 30s.
When packing up on the Saturday I even managed mirrors of 39 and 41lb with the rods on the ground!

Can send through photos if you require. "

"Hi Sandrine

Just got back from our De Boux trip for 2011.  Below is a report and some feedback for you:

Very difficult fishing for 4.5 days – no fish seen, no fish caught – which I presume is very rare?  On our 5th night the carp started feeding and we caught well for the next 2.5 days:

7 x 40’s
19 x 30’s
5 x 20’s

The only complaint we have from the venue is the trees on woods bank are now very restrictive for casting and playing fish.  The three lads who were on our trip do not believe in using bait boats etc, therefore rely on casting to fish.  This proved almost impossible from most of the woods bank as the overhanging trees caught the ‘end tackle’ on the cast.  Added to this, once a fish was hooked we had to crouch or kneel to play the fish to us.  This certainly restricted where in the lake we could effectively fish to and eventually forced us to fish the Dam wall.

However, we tried to not let this spoil our trip.

Kindest regards"

Paddy Ramsden

HML comments :
Dear Paddy,
Many thanks for your feedback. I have informed the lake bailiff about the situation concerning the growing of trees. He told me it would be solved before this summer.

How was your reception on arrival? Average
How was the supervision? Average
What can we improve? Philipe maybe learn a little English. But we came good with Phillips.

What did you think of the facilities? GoodWhat can we improve?
Everything was a little aging. The shower was great!

How were your catch during your stay (number, type of fish, weight, length, etc.)?Four men caught 27 fish including 7 x 30 pounds. The biggest was 39 pounds. But this is compounded by fear not we have 4 guys around 20 carp forfeit. 70% of the fish we caught were already well broken pelvis.

What was your opinion, the best tactics (bait type, diameter, braid, lace below the middle of the lake, etc.)?
We caught everything on small bait such as corn and 15mm boilies. And all runs were less than 1.5 m deep water on cuttings had no bite.

What can we improve? Well, we knew what to expect. 5 minutes and spoke with the manager not been seen since. We found further fine, nice and quiet. When problems occur, he is at 5 minutes away, so in that respect ...

What did you think of the facilities? Average
What can we improve? A lick of paint would not be bad.

How were your catch during your stay (number, type of fish, weight, length, etc.)?Despite high temperatures (40 degrees every day) we captured relatively well. Advantage is that you own from 9.00 in the morning to sit in the shade, so greatly affected by the heat that we had no concerns. Everyone had fish. In total 32 carp, 17 thirties:1x38, 2x36, 4x35, 3x34, 2x32, 4x31,1x30 and even 4x29 lbs.

What was your opinion, the best tactics (bait type, diameter, braid, lace below the middle of the lake, etc.)?All cuttings was captured. In the first days, most fish caught on the other side. After a day or 4 root cuttings started to run. Here we have continuously implemented and when we went fishing for soaked boillies began to run.

Do you have any further comments or on a nice story? On Wednesday, the Netherlands had to play the semifinal against Uruguay. Until then we had no koi carp caught. Just before the match we caught a total of 2, orange. Nice sign. It is also a beautiful lake with friends to go. The shape of the lake can be set up tents close together and can still be fished the whole lake. The fish are nice in terms of strength and size. We come back again!

How was the supervision? As is known, the bailiff is not very involved in the water ...

What can we improve? The shower is a lot better if it was in any case! But a closer to the toilet water would be very nice!

How were your catch during your stay (number, type of fish, weight, length, etc.)?
Despite the very inclement weather and the North / Northwest wind caught it well! I sat on the shallow and was lucky that there until Wednesday was by far the most fish. I've caught a total of 36. In total we had in 4th son caught 68, including 13 over 15 pounds. Almost no fish under 10 pounds and fought the fish piece by piece as if the devil behind them was on! Really great!

What was your opinion, the best tactics (bait type, diameter, braid, lace below the middle of the lake, etc.)?In the extreme shallow angle were quite a few water plants. In between was a lot of fish ... pretty tight collision fish delivered to me by far the most fish. And in terms of conduct, fish for a fish at a time .... I put no more than 2 or 3 hands over a few meters. And the secret wound Raas?? Small corner of the veil, it is yellow and it's canned .....
Do you have any further comments or on a nice story?

Robert, Jap and Dad thanks for a very nice week!!
