Woodslake : Darryl Matthison feedback

Well as the season is now coming to a close and what a season it has been on domain de Goncourt !
Just a small write up on how my year went , so here goes !

Well let's start on how many years I have fished Goncourt , maybe 10 years or more lost count , fished all lakes several times over, had ups and downs but this year has been the most interesting for me in my personal life and more to the point the fishing , let's start with my first trip to woods lake in April , had the pleasure of fishing with a good friend Phil Timmins on the new island with the new lodge and wow what a lodge , kicked off on the Saturday well let's say the Sunday lol fished Sunday to Wednesday ( no nights ) fished swim towards Pascale Briallart garden , had fish from the off the mark and they came thick and fast ( mostly carp) cut a long story short I came away catching 86 carps in 4 days ! and lets not get confused these were mirrors and commons , fished one rod as that was all that was possible , let me remind you this was the 10 year anniversary of Goncourt and we had a ball in the short time I was there , putting faces to names at long last , was a pleasure and a great laught to meet the southerners Steve Cole , James Harewood , etc etc unfortunately I had to leave the early hours of Thursday morning as my little boy was on his way :) , big thanks to phil for getting up with me and Pascale for getting in contact at 3 in the morning ( it was emotional ) .missed the celebrations on the Thursday night but hey ho my first child was on his way , ok so more recently I fished saule in August for the 3 rd time , was slow fishing ( 16 fish in total ) but wow they were fish , all over 40lb with my first 50 at 55lb rolling into my net ( bout time ) think I caught every 40 on the complex !!!!! So all I can say is that it's been my best season so far and thanks to everyone for making that season pascal , Maxime Briallart, Phil Timmins and the southern lot , let's see what next year has in stall as the complex gets better every year , much love darryl mattison ."

More photos about Woodslake inside chalet

This new facility is available for the groups of anglers who have booked this lake on exclusive. It was decided to leave the choice to the anglers to rent it as an extra option (£30 per person) or not depending their desire and so as not to increase the base of the fishing price for the eventual non interrested ones.

Goncourt complex : bait available on site for 2013 fishing season

Maize cooked : 10 euros per 5 kg bag
Hemp cooked : 14 euros per 5kg bag

Boilies :
They are all rolled and ready to fish. The are all fresh boilies. They are in the freezers ready now. These are the new baits added this year. The triple P's ( peach & peppers) from previous years are still available.

GLM : 40 euros/ 5 kgs
A proven fishmeal mix which has worked well on domaine de Goncourt. This mix is made up of a high quality fishmeals, top quality proteins and attractors with the addition of high levels of green lipped mussel extract.
This mix doesn't need a flavour and relies on the unique pulling power if the GLM.

LT60 40 euros/ 5 kgs
This is totally new bait for 2013 on domaine de Goncourt. We have taken our proven protein fishmeal mix and added a coconut mix into It. To this we have added a few special attractors which aid the palatability of the bait. This produces a lovely irresistible creamy coconut boilies that is guaranteed to catch fish this year.
The mix has already caught some large carp in the UK over the last few years and we are sure it will do the same in France.

Peach and Pepper : 40 euros/ 5 kgs

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION FOR GONCOURT ANGLERS

Dear Anglers,

Many thanks for having booked a fishing holiday with us. We have had an official inspection from the waste disposal authorities on Saules, Traque, Robin Lake, Great Lake and Botte. Given the important quantities of waste handling there, they have imposed on us a much more important fee. Unfortunately that fee is so consequent that we have no other option but to ask our guests (anglers and non anglers) to contribute. We are asking you that when you arrive on site each member of your party gives Pascale Briallart (owner/manager) the sum of 10 Euros.

We remind you that only food and drink packaging rubbish is allowed in the specified containers.

Bivvies, gazebos, broken boats, chairs or other voluminous items should not be placed in the bins. Please either take them back home with you or contact the fisheries owner/manager to give you the waste treatment plant adress or agree for that waste to be handled on you behalf at the pro rata of what we are being charged for these lakes.

Many thanks for your understanding on this matter and your help in keeping the lakes clean so as to greet you in the best conditions.

Woodslake : new confortable and luxuary chalet on the peninsula

As you know, the owners and ourselves are doing our best to improve our fisheries every year. Pascale had the great idea to provide more comfort to the Woodslake anglers.
After having amenaged the pensinsula on Woodslake so as to allow the anglers to fish from it (exclusive booking only), she decided to add a new facility to this lake.
A beautiful and confortable chalet was built end of January 2013 directly on the peninsula. This new facility is available for the groups of anglers who have booked this lake on exclusive. It was decided to leave the choice to the anglers to rent it as an extra option (£30 per person) or not depending their desire and so as not to increase the base of the fishing price for the eventual non interrested ones. But, we have no doubt that this chalet will be very in demand considering all the confort it provides.
The chalet can be left wide open in the hot summer
A gate will also be added at the entrance of the peninsuala so as to forbid the entrance to the persons who are not booked on Woodslake and give more privacy to the Woodslake anglers .

Goncourt update : from Pascale

Winter time is here again, time to relax but time to think of what improvements can be made to the complex also. As you know I am always trying to find a way to improve the Domaine de Goncourt complex.
This year it will be the turn of Great Lake and the Goncourt 3 Lakes. I know I had promised you facilities on Goncourt 3 Lakes but with the bad weather we had last year and with people having trouble driving around the lakes, I thought it was more appropriate to concentrate on the roads around the lakes. This way all my customers can fish comfortably without having to worry about the weather and they can just fish. It is going to cost more than putting in toilet and shower facilities but I believe this will be money well spent for the future of Goncourt 3 Lakes. The most important thing for me this year is your safety driving to and from the lakes.
About Great Lake now. The toilets and shower facilities are really old, so it is time to have some new ones !! I have also thought that if I replace the current facilities with larger and more modern ones the Goncourt 3 Lakes customers will be able to use these also. I will also have fridge and freezers available within the new block. This will help customers who do not want to drive to the Goncourt Lodge everyday. So, hopefully this benefits everyone on both Domaine de Goncourt and Goncourt 3 Lakes.
Robin Lake will also have improvements made to the Mobile Home with the new work surfaces, sink and cooker. These will be installed by the start of the season along with a new table outside with seating for 6 people. The fish in Robin lake fish continue to grow and I am hoping for some new 60's to come from this lake this year.
I would like to remind everyone again of the tax we have pay for refuse collection. As you know this will be collected on arrival at the lakes and is not included in the price of your trip. This is a tax imposed by the local authority and I have no control over this, sorry.
I am continually striving to produce some of the best fishing and facilities available for all my customers whether they are old or new customers. I appreciate your loyalty and friendship over my 10 years at Domaine de Goncourt.

Woodslake : Marc Gormer fishing in November 2012

Bonjour Sandrine

Here are some pictures from Goncourt. The grass carp is from the Great lake April last year. The 33lb and 35lb commons are from woodslake April 2011 and the 40lb common PB is from Woods November this year.

I would like to say that we really enjoy the Goncourt complex, we have been fishing in France for ten years and have never been treated as well as when we are at Goncourt, a credit to Pascale and Max. We will be back on Woods in September for some unfinished business with a few catfish we have hooked and lost. In the future we will probably try to get on saules or le traque.

Thanks for your help with the booking.

Many thanks
Marc
